Fall portraits don’t always need to show fall colours…While we did capture some images of the children playing in the leaves, my favourites from this session are the portraits on the beach. The Beach in Toronto is a fabulous spot for children’s portraits. The expansive horizon over the water, the sand and large rocks provide such a great backdrop for portraiture. It was a beautiful fall day…and I love the blue gray tones from the rocks and hazy sky.

Included in all of our portrait sessions is a pre-consultation either here in the studio or by phone for my out of town clients. This pre-consultation is very important for the entire creative process as well as to help you prepare for you portrait session. Many of our clients also ask for suggestions for what to wear. We always recommend clothing that compliments who you are as a family, that also fits in with the environment where the session is taking place and that coordinates with the home where the final images will be displayed. Really, your style should be as unique as your family. Kids and babies can be a bit bolder with their colour and style. It’s always a great idea with kids to show off their fun style with casual clothes which also keeps the kids comfortable. This is important so that I can capture natural expressions of their real personalities. I love the clothing that the kids wore in this session. They are super cute right down to their colourful sneakers.
