Last summer I had the opportunity to work with Pratt Homes and Enticity Brand Agency. I was commissioned to create fine art photographs around the City of Barrie that would be used in the branding and marketing campaign for The Gallery Condominiums which is a new condo development on Essa Road built by Pratt Homes. Six of my photographs are framed in the sales gallery (shown below) and these same six photographs were custom printed and framed as 24″x36″, each the first of an edition of ten, that will hang in The Gallery Condos.
The Gallery Condominiums is a beautiful community that is inspired by art and culture. There are four six-story buildings which are named after renowned art galleries: The MacLaren, The Met, The R.O.M. and The Louvre. You may remember the artist competition last summer, where residents were invited to vote for their favourite art installation which will sit on the roof of one of their buildings for all of Barrie to see. Aylan Couchie was the winner of this competition and her landmark installation, H.I.O. Big Chiefs will be placed on Barrie’s first residential roof top patio which will have unparalleled views of the city. The Pratt family has long been a great supporter of arts and culture in the City of Barrie. The family has created a legacy here through supporting the arts as well as many community organizations. Previously Pratt Homes partnered with award winning artist Ron Baird to create a public art installation The Spirit Clock that is featured at their Yonge Station Development. Ron is the artist who created the iconic Spirit Catcher which stands at the base of Maple Avenue on Barrie’s scenic waterfront.
I met with Todd Palmer, the marketing director of Pratt Homes and Shanna Dennis, owner and brand consultant of Enticity. I was immediately excited about this project after speaking with them and having a look through the brand strategy. The entire brand and condo development is truly a work of art. I photographed on location around the city over a couple of weeks to create a collection of fine art photographs for The Gallery Condominiums. This project is definitely a highlight of my photography career. It was wonderful to have been given the opportunity and the freedom to explore our great city with fresh eyes and create images that uniquely showcase the beauty of the City of Barrie.
The sales office is stunning with works of art throughout.
I love how Enticity incorporated the fine art photographs in the branding and marketing campaign for Pratt Homes The Gallery Condominiums. If you are driving up Essa Road, you will see these beautifully designed billboards along the side of the road. One of my favourite billboards using my black and white photograph of a pine forest is seen at the corner of Clapperton and Collier streets in downtown Barrie.
This is a beautifully branded project. The fine art photographs give consistency to the visual content which in turn helps build a strong brand identity. Congratulations to Pratt Homes and Enticity Brands for developing an amazing brand image for The Gallery Condos.
Here is the collection of fine art photographs of the City of Barrie commissioned by Pratt Homes for The Gallery Condominiums. The image above was made in the tunnel at the Allandale Go Station. I set my camera on my tripod to make this composition and waited for people to arrive off the trains. I love the symmetry as well as the motion in this image. It was a purely serendipitous moment that a young woman walked through wearing a tutu. Magical. This is definitely my favourite image of the collection. I donated the second print of this photograph (2/10) to the MacLaren Art Centre Art auction in November.
The Gallery Condominiums Final Phase Release was this past Saturday April 16th. If you are looking for a beautiful condo in the city of Barrie, you definitely want to head over to the sales office before The Gallery Condos are sold out.
Very nice pictures. Quite evocative. I enjoyed viewing them very much.
